Cluster with proven expertise at FachPack Fair weather clouds over Packaging Valley

Schwaebisch Hall/Nuremberg: With almost 1000 square meters, the joint fair stand of Packaging Valley at FachPack 2012 in Nuremberg will exceed those of previous years in size. This time, the packaging machine builders from the Kocher and Jagst Valley fly their flags together already for the third time. Once again, the member companies of Packaging Valley e. V. will create awareness among the international clientele attending FackPack 2012 for the powerful concentration of packaging competence in the surroundings of the southern German towns of Schwaebisch Hall and Crailsheim. This cluster will make a powerful appearance by a joint stand dominating hall 2 of the fairground: 9 machine builders will be grouped around the Packaging Valley lounge. More companies of Packaging Valley – an network founded 5 years ago – will attend the fair with another 7 stands. Altogether 38 companies are now unified under the roof of Packaging Valley e.V. Another two companies joined the association last year.

The new concept for the stand – developed in cooperation with Crailsheim-based Media Resource Group (MRG) – was designed under the Motto: Cluster of Competence and Innovative Power in One Region. The guiding concept is based on ‘Cloud Computing’, a tool for virtual pooling knowledge and competence in the best interest of all stakeholders under a cloud. Already at a very early point, this network of packaging machine manufacturers understood that in a society that is increasingly going global, a network can be beneficial even for competitors, as the opportunity to compare offers and innovative power within one region is procured for an international clientele. The joint stand will also launch the advertising campaign for the International Packaging Valley Days 2013, to be held from April 10 to 11 April, 2013.

Fachpack in Nuremberg will take place from September 25 until September 27, 2012. Being one of Germany’s most important trade shows, FachPack will is a trade fair for all aspects around the sectors of packaging, processing and logistics. The significant event expects visitors mainly from Germany and Europe. For Packaging Valley, the proven concept of a joint stand has already become part of its success story.

As in previous years, the exhibiting companies want to use the advantages of making a joint appearance, through which important new contacts could be won and brand awareness for the individual companies and “Packaging Valley Germany” has been further increasing. Another advantage for the associated enterprises lies in the fact that Packaging Valley e.V. assumes responsibility for planning, fair stand construction and setup, catering and other logistic tasks. But top priority is – of course – placed on visitor benefits: Nine enterprises in one go; a genuine cluster and much room for dialogue in the Packaging Valley lounge – that’s an impressive bottom line.

Even for those members not represented at the fair, the joint stand turned out to be a valuable meeting place, offering great opportunities for exchange of thought and experience. The visitor can expect a host of innovative and very recent developments. Here a few examples from Packaging Valley: Optima from Schwaebisch Hall will present a filling machine for liquid and natural processing aids that performs all activities along the entire process chain from container sterilization to filling and labelling and – finally – closing. Stako, a company domiciled in Wolpertshausen, shows an alignment machine for plastic bottles that is characterized by high flexibility even under extreme output. OCS (Schwäbisch Hall) exhibits an x-ray scanner for the detection of foreign particles as well as high-precision dynamic checkweighers. Once again Ishida (Schwaebisch Hall) will exhibit its efficient and future-oriented packaging technology. The company will introduce multihead weighers, packaging machines and quality control systems. The X-ray control system IX-GA-4075 for maximum safety has been designed to detect even very small foreign objects. HVS (Hohenloher Verpackungssysteme, Wolpertshausen) will show a horizontal cartoner that erects folding boxes and offers outstanding flexibility of use.

A specialty from SVZ Maschinenbau (Crailsheim) is a state-of-the-art robot cell with two robots that can form bundled packages (e.g. antipasti bowls etc.). So-matec-Epple (Sulzbach-Laufen) is specialized in machinery for smaller batches and exhibits an innovative vertical folding box erector. HEITEC AG stands for solution engineering and sector competence in the areas of electronics and mechanical engineering and software. The company’s novelty presented at the fair, the ValiManager, stands for efficient compilation and organization of validation documents.

The exhibits from R.WEISS from Crailsheim will occupy most of the joint stand’s surface. R.Weiss will set up a complete shampoo bottle packaging line. After easy and simple tool changeover, the robot-based top loading system inserts bottles vertically or boxes horizontally into boxes, which afterwards are secondary-packaged on pallets.
