Just a short distance, but a huge technological variety

“Join us in Packaging Valley” from 24 to 26 September at the 40th FachPack in Nürnberg. Anyone who knows Packaging Valley knows how many companies from the packaging industry can be found here. In no time at all, visitors have access to diverse packaging technologies for the pharmaceuticals, food and non-food industry, all designed and developed in Packaging Valley.

“Join us” is the motto of the packaging cluster – and rightly so! Here, on the joint stand of Packaging Valley that almost fills the entire Hall 2, twelve member companies present their highlights. These include robotic handling, customised feeding machines and complete lines for efficient packaging together with respective engineering and documentation. Here visitors are sure to find the right partner for their packaging challenge.

Find the Future in Packaging Valley

The central topics of this year’s FachPack such as environmentally-friendly packaging and resource conservation in the packaging industry are also a priority for companies in Packaging Valley. The focus is on digitalisation and sustainability. On the Optima stand, together with presentation of the new platform TCAM that bundles all the company’s Smart Services, daily round-table discussions with experts on the subject of sustainability will be hosted. Visitors are encouraged to contribute their viewpoint and to take active part. The joint development of new packaging concepts in collaboration with the customer has always been part of daily business at Optima. Not only the durability of the products has a role to play but it begins with resource-saving production. For example, WIPOTEC-OCS sets a clear focus on responsible handling of energy and its production plants are designed accordingly. On the trade fair stand they demonstrate their customary Made-in-Germany quality in the fields of weighing systems and inspection solutions.

Technological diversity in Packaging Valley
Protection of the environment and mankind, simple operation, the requirements set by wet areas, small rooms, sterile manufacturing and increased efficiency through networked production – all these are the challenges to be faced and which are solved in Packaging Valley.

The following highlights are presented by the exhibiting companies on the joint trade fair stand:

Baier Engineering, specialist for robotic automation, focuses on joint work between human and robot. When the outer surface of the robot comes into contact with skin, the robot stops immediately, and resumes only after confirmation by the operator. SVZ sets its focus on a robotic solution with double gripper tool for palletizing and safe handling of reusable Europool folding trays. Anyone looking for carton erectors, also for use in high humidity areas, will find a suitable solution here. The modular UNIROB Toploading System from R.WEISS is a popular platform. This intermixing system with integrated Intelligent Shuttle System provides an effective extension for quick handling of individual parts

Small rooms are always a challenge and our companies are committed to solutions. Bleichert for example, provides automatically guided transport systems, in which the wheels can be set at all angles. Top quality transport and feeding systems designed to diverse customer requirements are also offered by the machine and plant engineering company HO-MA.

Reliability, flexibility and automation are important development criteria for our member companies. Afag presents an FDA-compliant feeding system in polyamide, with reactive force compensation. This flexible feeding component aflex as well as the FlexSpeed high-speed handling system (> 120 cycles per minute) are highlights. Stako presents a labelling machine with automatic format change and a semi-automatic filling machine for sensitive media such as chemicals or cosmetics. Everything to do with paper and carton packs are presented by Popp. Its tray erector “Little Lion” folds and rolls solid board and corrugated board. Ishida traditionally sets standards in weighing technology and quality control. Amongst other products shown are multi-head weighers that combine high speed with impressive precision, as well as inspection systems for detecting foreign bodies and leaky MAP packaging.

Networked production is the topic of the service provider Heitec, an expert for everything to do with IT integration. The company focuses on convenience and ease of use, with mobile assistance systems for maintenance or data monitoring.

Four other members Breitner, Marbach, PCA and Transova Ruf can be found in the adjacent halls 1, 3 and 7. A visit to FachPack is definitely worthwhile.
