One of everything please! The Packaging Valley Tour at FachPack

Packaging Valley at the FachPack from 25 to 27 September 2018

FachPack invites you to Nuremberg from 25 to 27 September. For members of Packaging Valley this is one of the most important trade fairs in the packaging industry. A total of 18 members will present their companies, twelve of them jointly with Packaging Valley in Hall 2.

“Tomorrow begins when you create it” is the motto of this year’s FachPack. The spirit of invention is at home in Packaging Valley. Issues of the future are not only dealt with here jointly but are also put into practice. Since the inception of Packaging Valley, the FachPack has been one of the most important trade fairs for the association as a place to present the latest developments and joint projects. Sustainability, efficiency and comfort are some of the key themes. In particular, solutions are presented for quickly attainable service concepts, production of small quantities and for the quick processing and evaluation of large data volumes.

According to Kurt Engel, CEO of the packaging association, “Packaging Valley exists in order to shape the future of packaging through collaboration. We are interested in making developments even better and in operating over the long term. Here at the fair we present our results and will also continue with these themes in our event series “Packaging Valley Days” which is to take place again in June 2019”.

The trade fair stand is also new. This year Packaging Valley presents its new look, giving more intensive focus on the association of members. The concept is a unique realm where the visitor is invited to enter through the open gates to get to know all about Packaging Valley. At the center is the Packaging Valley Lounge which offers both a place to retreat for a while and the popular Meet & Greet at the heart of the cluster.

An all-round view on the Packaging Valley Tour:

Start in Hall 2 at the companies Afag, Baier Engineering, HEITEC, HO-MA, Ishida, OPTIMA, Popp Maschinenbau, R.WEISS, SL innovativ, STAKO, SVZ and WIPOTEC-OCS around the Packaging Valley Lounge. The tour then takes you to Hall 1 to BREITNER. From here to Hall 7 to Marbach and finally to Hall 3A, where you will be welcomed by PCA, R.Deckert and Transnova-Ruf.

These are the trade fair highlights of our member companies:

1. Components, tools and peripheral devices are shown here:

The Afag Group, a leading manufacturer of components and systems in the feeding, handling and transportation sectors, is presenting flexible and powerful systems. One example: a FDA-compliant, 3D-CAD/CAM-manufactured feeding system with reactive force compensation. More feeding and transportation modules, especially for the pharmaceutical industry, are shown at the booth of HO-MA. Highest quality and performance will convince. STAKO shows its competence with a clever line consisting ofa one-headed filling machine for volumes 50ml – 5000ml (expandable to two heads), followed by a two-sided labelling machine and a rotary table. The line is an ideal solution for production companies wanting to take thefirst step from manual packaging to line production.

Bleichert presents driverless transport systems, in this instance with an omnidirectional drive. Marbach will present its innovations in the fields of corrugated board, paperboard, special technologies and labels. Marbach has an additional stand at the special exhibition “Packaging in Medical Technology and Pharmacy” where it will present its products for pharmaceutical manufacturers.

2. If you are searching for quality control components and weighing systems, then you will be right here:

Ishida shows a compactpackaging line consisting ofa tray sealing and a revolutionary leak detection system.Furthermore you can see a mini inspection-line, weighing solutions as well as a software solution for optimizing products.Packaging 4.0 has arrived. At the booth of WIPOTEC-OCS you will see the latest check weighing technology, x-ray inspection systems, and pharma serialisation solutions. WIPOTEC Weighing Technology will provide insights on the latest trends regarding integration of inline-weighing processes for packaging lines.

3. Turnkey-lines and robotic solutions can be found here:

In consistent quality, Baier Engineering GmbH shows robot solutions for palletizing with a servo-electrical picker. TransnovaRuf focusses on flexibility and compactness with its Robot-Flexline-products. They will also be showing an ultra-compact version of the Robot Palletizer, which can be operated without any safety fence and is therefore very space-saving and economical.

On an area of 300m², R.WEISS is presenting a monoline UNIROB picker and a UNIROBpicker descrambling system. These feed into the UNIROB Toploading machine with integrated Intelligent Shuttle System which is also on display. PCA will be presenting several innovations from the packing and palletising sectors, including a fast yet compact tray erector, a packer with a camera system and pre-grouping technology, as well as an automatically adjustable pail gripper.

The Moduline machine concept of OPTIMA is the center of the booth. It boasts flexibility, fast format changes, large format ranges, processes that can be expanded and modified via plug & play, as well as a variety of additional special functions. Filling and capping machines, focussing on accurate and precise filling of tablets can be seen at the booth of R.Deckert. The machines can be rounded out with printing and labelling systems. BREITNER shows not only filling machines for liquids, but a very new bottle sorting system. It allows you to insert and transport different and unstable bottles without format changes.

Paper and carton is the focus of Popp. The new tray erector is called „Der kleineLöwe (The small lion)“. The meaning of the name will be explained at the booth. SVZ presents a new folding and assembling machine in a compact design. Special cardboard-inserts for supporting syringes and pens will be inserted and glued into a pharmabox. A further highlight is a lidding/gluing machine for a two-piece tray-package, processed by a SVZ-erecting machine in combination with a handling-robot .

4. Great machines and plants need networked concepts and new service solutions. You will find them here:

At HEITEC, everything is about networked production. If you are searching for digital engineering solutions, IT-integration, data monitoring and analysis as well as mobile repair assistance, this is the right place to be. SL innovativ stands for innovative documentation on paper or other media as well as augmented reality. Ask them for the right medium which enhances the product benefits.
