Joint stand at Interpack (May 8-14, 2014)

Schwäbisch Hall/Düsseldorf: Interpack, the world’s flagship fair for packaging machine engineering, takes place every three years in Düsseldorf. This event is very important for companies from the Packaging Valley, located near the southern German cities of Schwäbisch Hall and Crailsheim, as a platform for showcasing their outstanding packaging solutions. Of the 40 members in the network of experts, 18 custom machine engineering companies will take part in the fair. The newly redesigned fair stand in Hall 16 is sure to attract countless visitors this year. 5 member companies are exhibiting under the red banner of the Packaging Valley in more than 500 square meters of space surrounding the Packaging Valley Lounge.

Experience from previous fairs shows that a good joint presentation significantly increases visitor traffic. Moreover, the fair organizers have created a highly attractive space for all participants in Hall 16 of the Düsseldorf exhibition center. Numerous additional packaging machine manufacturers from the region are located in the immediate vicinity of the joint stand, which further emphasizes the unparalleled concentration of internationally renowned companies in Packaging Valley Germany for international visitors.

One glance at the exhibiting companies and it is apparent why the joint stand should not be missed:
R.WEISS from Crailsheim will be demonstrating models from its UNIROB turnkey line for pharmaceutical products. The system consists of the following components: container feed, product inspection via vision systems, toploading of individual products, verification of completeness via belt weigher, insertion of product information, closure of containers, labeling and multi-item packaging in American case shipping boxes. The machine also comes equipped with systems for serialization, UL certification and validation. R. WEISS will focus primarily on its core UNIROB toploading range. Multiple R. WEISS delta robots in series individually pick approximately 900 products/min and place them in containers in a toploading process. Every R. WEISS delta robot comes with its own product feed system. The UNIROB picker concept is a highly flexible system that is ideal for applications including pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, candy and food. Another machine presented will be the UNIROB picker for handling individual products at high speeds, a module that can be used for applications in nearly all industrial fields. In this machine, UNIROB picker technology is combined with a unique intelligent shuttle transport system.

BREITNER, the filling system manufacturer from Schwäbisch Hall, will focus at this year’s fair on the filling and closing of canisters and the unscrambling of plastic bottles with volumes from 200 ml to 3 liters. The following machines will be exhibited:

LINEAR FILLING MACHINE IDL
– Liquid to viscous
The filling tubes move upward as the fill level rises. After filling is completed and the filling tubes are closed, they are quickly removed from the bottle without dripping > approx. 10% higher output.

Product changeover – residual product and rinsing liquid are removed in the closed or half-open system without contaminating the machine.

Steam treatment and sterilization can take place in the closed system as needed.

BOTTLE UNSCRAMBLER

– Plastic bottles up to approx. 3 liters

SERVO-ASSISTED CLOSING MACHINE SRV for attaching fliptop closures on headstanding honey bottles (squeezers).

Manufacture of custom-tailored models of this machine type for large containers of 10 L and more.

LINEAR CLOSING MACHINE VSL

– Bottles and canisters – continuous processing without congestion or container stop.

Ideal for soft, large containers > 1 L.

Large-volume containers up to 30 L.

No spillover. The closing spindle centers and synchronizes itself with the container neck as it continuously moves forward along the transport belt. The closure is screwed on as it moves synchronously with the container.

so-matec epple from Sulzbach-Laufen will be debuting at Interpack with a compact cartoning machine featuring 2 manual workplaces, ideal for packaging in particular small volumes of small bottles in boxes. Stellmax products for multiple alignment and central supply in a multi-lane feed will be shown.

The machine engineering company Popp from Crailsheim builds machines for post-pressing and packaging,
with functionalities including picking, transporting, aligning, collecting, gluing, folding, cutting, bundling and sending of print and media products.

STAKO Maschinenbau Wolpertshausen will be presenting a highly compact machine for wrap-around labeling. The core assembly and transporter of the labeling machine are made of stainless steel. Additional label dispensers
can be added to achieve your individual labeling solutions.

Interpack is an important forum for exhibitors from Packaging Valley to highlight their unrivalled quality and innovative technology for an international audience.
Already successfully introduced at other fairs, the Packaging Valley Lounge will serve as a hub for vital interaction between customers, visitors and exhibitors at this year’s Interpack. The “Packaging Valley Route” guides visitors from the joint stand to the 18 member companies who will take part in the fair with their own stands.
